BORN OF THE EARTH AND PEOPLE - Cooproeste's history begins on June 2, 1995, in the municipality of Barreiras, Bahia, when 28 rural producers founded the cooperative. At the time, the main objective was to meet the needs of agricultural storage, processing and commercialization of grains, with emphasis on soy, corn and rice.
The creation of Cooproeste was also influenced by the liquidation of Cooperativa Cotia, which had already operated in the region with branches since 1982.
With the expertise and knowledge acquired, producers associated with Cooproeste saw the opportunity to offer a more specialized and complete service, capable of meeting the specific demands of the western region of Bahia.
